This International Women’s Day, the Trust is proud to recognise and celebrate the women whose dedication, compassion and expertise make a real difference to people facing hardship every day. Under the leadership of Interim CEO Tracey Talbot, the Trust continues to prioritise collaboration, accessibility and community-based support, ensuring organisations make a measurable difference on the ground.
This year, we are highlighting our partnership with Lancashire Women through a short film that captures the care, commitment and professionalism of the women working across the organisation.
“International Women’s Day is about recognising the strength, resilience and achievements of women in every role, said Tracey Talbot, “especially those working quietly behind the scenes to support others. We are incredibly proud to work alongside organisations whose impact is felt in communities every single day.”
The support of Lancashire Women has helped people like Ann. 80-year-old Ann had saved £7,000 to spend on enjoying her retirement, with a portion of that money set aside for some renovations to improve her homes energy efficiency. Despite spending all the £7,000 she had set aside, the contractors failed to complete the work and Ann found herself in her overdraft, without any proper improvements having been done to her home. On her behalf, Lancashire Women reached out to an agency who was quickly able to provide insulation with no upfront costs. Lancashire Women’s money and energy advice team also supported Ann by carrying out a home energy assessment, providing free tailored energy advice and bill support.
Fuel poverty rarely exists in isolation. Many of the people we aim to support are also facing wider challenges, from high living costs to difficult health, housing or family circumstances. By working with trusted organisations, we can meet people where they are and ensure they receive joined-up support that reflects the reality of their lives.
