The Energy Advisory Service, Tighean Innse Gall- Community Energy Outreach
Project Information
The Energy Advisory Service aims to reduce fuel poverty levels, increasing energy efficiency by providing households with the information, skills, and tools to keep them out of fuel poverty. They will ensure householders gain a better understanding and improved confidence in energy efficiency such as heating controls, switching, insulation and referral options for benefits checks.
Energy Advice will be delivered through a two-pronged approach with face-to-face home visits and virtual energy support. Support will include energy efficiency advice, tariff switching, liaising with suppliers, income maximisation, debt relief, appliance schemes, access to insulation measures and advice/access to appropriate grants or energy schemes.
Support will also be given through open days, community events, talks and online sessions. Well established referral pathways with Home Energy Scotland, Financial Inclusion, Citizen Advice Bureau, MacMillan Benefits and care providers such as WICCF and WICCI will also be utilised.
