Position: Trustee

Susan has served on the boards of a range of commercial and not-for-profit organisations – including in energy, transport, health and the arts.

She is a Professorial Fellow with the University of Edinburgh and works widely at the interface between research, policy and practice and in building cross-sectoral collaborations. Susan has a keen interest in leadership and governance and is a previous Chair of the Institute of Directors in Scotland.

She is a former Member of the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government Minister and, more recently, was Chair of the Scottish Police Authority. Her early career was in organisational change and management development in both the public and private sectors.

Susan was awarded a CBE for services to business, education and public service in the 2017 Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.
