Mark McGillicuddy
Position: Treasurer
Mark graduated in Economics before moving on to complete a training contract with KPMG Chartered Accountants.
As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales, most of his career was spent in the Utilities sector, culminating in a wide variety of senior finance and leadership roles at National Grid, including major change programmes and being appointed as a Trustee Board Director of the main pension scheme.
Mark discovered his true passion and calling for changing the lives of young people with lifelong learning difficulties and disabilities whilst leading on a wide variety of inclusion and social responsibility initiatives at National Grid e.g. Co-founded a multi and national-award winning ‘EmployAbility’ partnership scheme to help young people with additional learning needs achieve their paid employment aspirations and outcomes. Mark took the decision to leave National Grid to focus all of his time and efforts on helping children and young people with additional learning needs, spending much of his time in special schools, further education and local authority settings; and influencing government policy.
Mark is keen to use all of his skills, knowledge and experiences along with his fellow trustees to alleviate poverty.
