Jessica Taplin

Position: Chief Executive Officer

Jessica Taplin is a passionate and dedicated leader in the third sector, with a career spanning work with young people, individuals with disabilities, and some of society’s most vulnerable groups. Since 2020, Jessica has served as the CEO of British Gas Energy Trust, where she has led the charity through a remarkable transformation. Under her leadership, the Trust has quadrupled its funding—thanks to British Gas—and significantly expanded its reach, supporting more than a quarter of a million since her tenure began.
With over two decades of experience in non-profit leadership, Jessica is a champion for collaboration and systemic solutions to complex societal challenges. She has been a vocal advocate for addressing fuel poverty, emphasising the need for holistic support systems that tackle interconnected issues like debt, health, and housing.
Jessica’s strategic vision and commitment to equity have driven initiatives that prioritise the most marginalised communities. A skilled communicator and empathetic storyteller, she amplifies the voices of those most affected by poverty, ensuring their experiences inform the solutions developed by the Trust and its partners.
In her spare time she’s mother of three, keeps bees, hens and enjoys her vegetable garden, long hikes and windsurfing rather badly.
