South East London Community Energy (SELCE)
Covering Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Greenwich and Croydon.
During the Covid19 pandemic five organisations have come together to reach out to South East Londoners struggling with energy debt. Led by South East London Community Energy (SELCE), this exciting partnership includes energy experts, SELCE and Groundwork London; money experts, Citizens Advice Lewisham; and social prescribing experts, Charlton Athletic Community Trust.
The first step in this initiative is to help residents to regain a sense of control over financial issues: Citizens Advice Lewisham will work with residents and energy companies to identify a long-term solution to debt and also support clients with budgeting and ensure all eligible benefits are accessed. SELCE and Groundwork London will then help clients regain a sense of control over energy use; helping residents to understand how energy is used in the home and how energy costs can be reduced in the long term, including providing eligible households with a variety of energy saving devices.
Other partners will provide support with non-energy related community issues and help to promote the service to vulnerable clients. Support will be available to anyone who lives in the London Borough’s of Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Greenwich or Croydon.
