Covering the West Midlands: Sandwell & Walsall.
Citizens Advice Sandwell and Walsall will provide targeted help to vulnerable groups of clients where there is expected to be a significant increase in reduced household income debt problems and energy debt and energy efficiency issues due to the pandemic.
The initiative will provide specialist debt interventions, including teaching basic budgeting skills and providing budgeting support, money management advice; specialist energy advice including tariff checks; income maximisation, energy efficiency and home insulation advice and helping clients to apply for grants to reduce bills as well as emergency support measures.
The project will help vulnerable residents manage their energy costs and household budget, while their situation is stabilised; it will also work with clients to develop positive habits and attitudes to energy use, as well as working to improve money confidence and build self- resilience.
