To receive a grant from the British Gas Energy Trust, you must fill in an application form. This section guides you through the process, provides useful information, and shows you where you can get additional advice. Online Application Process

Here at the British Gas Energy Trust we use the latest technology to help you get the most from our online services. Using our online application form makes the process of applying simple and effective. We believe it is the best way for you to send us your details as it helps us process your application as quickly and efficiently as we can.

The great features within the form help you every step of the way. It is easy to save your progress at any point during completion leaving you free to go back and complete the form at a later date. In addition, supporting information including proof of income, relevant bills and evidence of any special circumstances such as a disability, etc. can be scanned and submitted with the on-line application form. This speeds up the application process as we receive all your information at the same time.

Completing the Application Form by Hand

If you would prefer to complete an application form by hand there are a number of ways to obtain a copy of the application form.

  • You can leave your details on the Trust’s telephone application form request line: 01733 421060 and a form will be posted to you. Please ensure you leave a clear message including your full name, house number, street name, town and postcode. Without this information we will will not be able to process your request for a form.

A BGET funded Local Advisor and local advice centres such as a Citizens Advice Bureau may also be able to help you obtain a copy of the form, and may be able to help you complete your application. We recommend you seek money / debt advice before applying to the Trust to increase your change of a successful application.

Once completed your application should be submitted via our freepost address. On receipt of your application we will provide a written acknowledgement confirming we have received your application.
