This section will give you advice on who can apply, how to apply and where you can find additional help and advice. Please use the information to help you through the application process.

The Trust provides specialist fuel debt advice services via funded Local Advisors within a number of organisations based  in England, Scotland and Wales.

The British Gas Energy Trust provides grants to organisations to:

  • Provide free and impartial holistic money and debt prevention advice with a particular emphasis on the relief and prevention of fuel poverty.
  • Raise awareness of the Trust and the help provided by it to individuals and other advice agencies.
  • Increase the quality of applications submitted to the Trust.
  • Submit quality applications to grant making schemes on behalf of eligible clients.
  • Signpost appropriate clients to energy efficiency advice.

Don’t worry if you do not live near a Local Advisor, they also offer a free telephone advice service and will be able to help you over the phone.
